Application Process

Now enrolling for 2024-2025 academic year.

Application deadline June 1st. Applications received after June 1st will be considered should space allow.

To complete the “Adult Learner Application Form” you will need the following materials:

  • Three (3) References (contact information)

  • Internship information form *completed once internship site it known - not required for application to be processed

  • Transcripts (if applicable) *may be sent to NMI after application is submitted

 Adult learners may be admitted who do not hold a Bachelor's degree or higher. Upon the successful completion of the program, the adult learner will be awarded the AMS associate certificate. This credential may be up-dated through AMS to the full certificate upon the successful completion of a Baccalaureate Degree.

Early Childhood Program

Infant Toddler Program

For self directed teaching practicums, an additional fee of eight hundred fifty dollars ($450.00), payable to the Institute, shall be due at the beginning of the practicum phase to included three additional visits as additional support.

Miscellaneous Costs

Those participating in the Early Childhood program should plan to budget additional funds to cover miscellaneous costs for curriculum materials. Materials will need to be printed and organized into page protectors and albums (3-ring binders) prior to submission for final review. This consists of five curriculum albums (Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, Culture) due at seminars throughout the academic phase. Specific guidelines for organizing curriculum and reference materials will be provided by individual instructors throughout the course of study.

Scholarship Information

It is the belief of Northeast Montessori Institute that individuals wishing to undertake Montessori teacher training not be prevented from doing so due to financial restrictions.

  • Applications for the AMS Teacher Education Scholarship for the 2024 – 2025 academic year open on February 1, 2024. The American Montessori Society offers partial tuition scholarships. Information regarding the scholarship application and application guide can be found on the AMS website (www.amshq.org).

    Confirmation of enrollment in the form of the signature of the Program Director is required on the AMS scholarship application.

  • Next grant round opens in January 2024.

    To invest in the future of Black leadership, BWF will provide grants to Black educators pursuing Montessori training through MACTE credentialed programs. Black WIldflower Fund’s goal is to train and foster communities of practice for 60+ Black Montessori educators over the next three years.

    Priority will be given to individuals who've already applied or been accepted to a Montessori training program. BWF encourages all Black educators interested in obtaining a Montessori credential to apply!

    Application deadline March 15, 2024

    Montessori Schools of Massachusetts, as part of its commitment to member schools, has established a scholarship program to promote the training of Montessori teachers. MSM is happy to be able to award 1 scholarship of $5,000 to an applicant who otherwise would not have the opportunity to take Montessori training. This scholarship will be awarded to an applicant who is entering training and who demonstrates both a commitment to Montessori education and financial need *. Applicants must be enrolled in MACTE/AMI approved training program.
